"...but the most important rule of all, no mater how much he cries, no mater how much he begs, never, never feed him after midnight." - Gremlins
Wing Lee on Clement Ave & 6th has to be my go-to for "cheap Chinese" food when I'm in the Inner Richmond District of San Francisco. Yet, every time I'm here I can't help thinking Gremlins and Mr. Wing in that curio shop and that after-midnight rule. I guess Mr. Wing sure influenced the way I eat?
Okay, Wing Lee has nothing to do with Gizmo or mystery boxes, but it does have old Chinese ladies and fresh, cheap Chinese food! Get the combo! For me, it's all about timing so I'm usually here before the lunch crowd arrives. And no, I don't speak Cantonese, however I'm good at finger pointing lol.
Wing Lee has nothing to do with Bruce Lee either, but the prices here Kung Fu kicks all the other eateries to the curb! I mean $6 for a combo plate? C'mon now?! And good stuff too... my favorites include the Orange Chicken, Beef Chow Fun, Roasted Chicken, and Spare Ribs (if you luck out)! Any combo is good with me! Did I mention the proportions? No worries... Wing Lee gives huge scoops of tasty foods over a bed of rice or noodles!
In the end, I recommend Wing Lee to all looking for a bargain meal that's hella good! Let's just keep this spot between you and me though... we don't want Mogwai killing all the Spare Ribs! I end with one of my favorite songs by Paul McCartney and Wings...
And when I go away
I know my heart can stay with my love
It's understood
It's in the hands of my love
And my love does it good
Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
My love does it good...
Wing Lee certainly does it good! -

In the New Chinatown area of SF. Their Rice and two entrees is $5,99. A bargain for the Bay area.
Lunch or dinner, they have a variety of entrees to pick from and always have a veggie entree or two.
Next door, conveniently located is their dim sum to go place with the same name. -

Ah-haa... it's Cantonese take-away food central on a busy corner of Inner Clement, basically known as San Francisco's second Chinatown.
The lunch box is your basic white rice topped with two items. I forget what my mother got, but I chose Pork, which turned out to be extra-fatty spare ribs, plus Eggplant with Fried tofu. It was fine, portions were moderate. Can't really complain for the price.
Line to order goes out the door but moves quickly. As is still common in some long-established mom-and-pop shops, plastic money won't work; cash U.S. dollah bills are the only acceptable form of payment. -

Unbeatable authenticity and price. Menu is half Chinese / half English. Pork buns are the size of my face. Will be returning for sure

The staffs tricked me for adding extra bones on my order. I bought this for my parents. They didn't like it. Please do honest business.
